THE CANINE CLUB DOG DAYCARE POLICIES

How We Keep Our Pack Safe and Happy

Our top priority at The Canine Club is the safety and well-being of every dog in our care. To ensure a happy and healthy environment for all our furry guests, we have established the following guidelines:

Vaccination Requirements

All dogs must be up-to-date on the following vaccinations:

  • Rabies
  • Distemper
  • Parvovirus
  • Bordetella (Kennel Cough)

Proof of vaccination from a licensed veterinarian is required before admission to our daycare facility. Vaccinations help protect your dog and others from preventable diseases, ensuring a safer environment for everyone.

Spaying and Neutering Policy

For the safety and well-being of all dogs in our care, we require that all dogs over the age of six months be spayed or neutered. This policy helps prevent unwanted pregnancies and reduces the risk of certain behavioral issues, such as aggression and roaming.

We believe that spaying and neutering not only contributes to the overall health of your dog but also promotes responsible pet ownership and helps reduce pet overpopulation in our community.

Health Screening

Before your dog’s first visit to The Canine Club, we conduct a thorough health screening to ensure they are fit for daycare. This screening includes:

  • A physical examination by our trained staff to check for any signs of illness or injury.
  • A brief temperament assessment to assess your dog’s behavior and compatibility with our daycare environment.

If your dog shows any signs of illness or distress during the screening process, we may recommend that they visit a veterinarian before returning to our facility. This precaution helps prevent the spread of contagious diseases and ensures the safety of all dogs in our care.

Why Daycare is Good for Dogs?

Daycare is good for dogs because it provides opportunities for socialization, exercise, and mental stimulation in a supervised and safe environment. Additionally, it can help prevent loneliness, alleviate boredom, and reduce separation anxiety, leading to happier and healthier dogs overall.

How to Know if Your Dog Likes Daycare?

You can tell if your dog likes daycare by observing their behavior before, during, and after their visits. Signs that your dog enjoys daycare include excitement and eagerness to go, positive interactions with staff and other dogs, and a relaxed demeanor upon returning home. Additionally, if your dog displays increased energy and seems happy after daycare, they likely enjoy the experience.

Does Attending Daycare Help a Dog with their Anxiety?

Attending daycare can help a dog with anxiety. Daycare provides opportunities for socialization, exercise, and mental stimulation, which can help reduce anxiety in dogs by providing them with positive experiences and outlets for their energy. Additionally, the structured environment and interaction with trained staff can help anxious dogs feel more secure and confident.

Do you require vaccinations for dogs attending daycare?
  • Yes, for the safety of all dogs, we require proof of up-to-date vaccinations, including rabies, distemper, and Bordetella (kennel cough).
Do you conduct health checks on dogs before allowing them into daycare?
  • Before attending our daycare facility, our dogs undergo a thorough screening process to ensure both their safety and best placement possible.
What emergency procedures do you have in place in case of accidents or illness?
  • In case of illness or injury, we coordinate immediate care with our affiliated veterinarians. Owners are promptly notified and consulted on the best course of action.
  • Our staff is trained in dog first aid and equipped to address minor injuries. All incidents, no matter how small, are documented and owners are informed before pickup. In rare severe cases, involved dogs are removed, examined, and placed on a watch list for safety.
Do dogs have to be neutered or spayed to attend daycare at The Canine Club?
  • Yes, at The Canine Club, all dogs 6 months or older must be spayed or neutered before being allowed to attend daycare. Neutering or spaying helps create a safer and more harmonious environment for all dogs in our daycare facility. It reduces the risk of behavioral issues and conflicts that can arise between intact male and female dogs.
What should I bring when dropping my dog off at daycare?
  • Please bring your dog’s food, any necessary medications, and a labeled collar or harness. You can also bring a familiar toy or blanket to help them feel more comfortable during their stay.
Can I check in on my dog during daycare hours?
